Vintage vibe: Regina Andrew Detroit offering one-of-a-kind pieces

Furniture and accessories brand Regina Andrew Detroit is venturing into vintage, dedicating a section of its website to selling one-of-a-kind vintage home furnishings and accents.

This Italian chandelier has floral and teardrop details made of glazed porcelain.

The collection, launched earlier this month, includes more than 100 “thoughtfully curated furniture and decor items” with plans to add more products in coming months, according to the company. The pieces, amassed through a lifetime by company co-founders Carla Regina and James Andrew, come from their personal collection, as well as from photo shoots and special projects.

“Over the years, we have shared a small offering of vintage items through the ‘One of One’ section of our site, but this new vintage section will give us a broader platform to showcase some of our favorite pieces,” Regina said. “Now the decor that caught our eye on a trip to Europe or a specific piece from one of our photo shoots can find a new home with our customers.”

The collection includes a number of indigo mud clothes from Mali.

Pieces, many handmade, range from pillows and textiles to agate slabs to dress forms and book collections. Other vintage pieces that can invigorate today’s rooms include:

  • Small and large clay cunmin pots that once held spices but could now be used as planters or decorative accents
  • Ukrainian bread bowls with hand-carved details that have a farmhouse feel
  • A handmade strawberry pot from the 1940s that harkens back to the days of Route 66 travel with a colorful swirled glaze ideal for modern decor
  • European bistro chairs that will lend flair to dining or kitchen areas

Prices start at $35 for an iron tray. At the high end are a decorative handcrafted gold papier-mâché chair and an Italian chandelier with floral and teardrop details made of glazed porcelain, each retailing for $3,000.

“Our vintage project has been in development for more than a year, but our collecting of beautiful items has been a lifelong passion,” Andrew said. “Decor should tell a story, and this is our chance to share part of our story with anyone who appreciates vintage details as much as we do.”

Regina Andrew Detroit, based in Detroit, produces lighting, furniture and a broad range of home accessories.
