One of the values of attending a market in-person is the chance to see how sofas, chairs and other seating options sit. Manufacturers are unveiling a host of options, from plump slippers to enveloping curved sofas to versatile accent chairs — all waiting for you to see if they feel as good as they look.

Here are some of the new seating options you can find at the High Point Market Oct. 22-26.

The Coral sofa armchair from Hurtado Furniture is part of its Coral group, which the company describes as “composed of sharp notes, having their equivalent in the most delicate designs and serious notes that convey strength and robustness.” The armchair (and sectional sofa not shown) features a metal base and legs, and wood inlays on the arms. As part of Hurtado’s Evolution line, Coral seating is available in different wood and metal finishes. (208 W. English Road)

With Deco-era origins, the Sebastian sofa from Arteriors is modern version of the classic tuxedo sofa. It  features a rounded profile and a fully upholstered plinth, and is covered in a luxurious indigo velvet. It retails for $6,500. (Commerce & Design building, 1A, 1B, 1G, Floor 1)

Soft lines meet minimal, midcentury design in the Kolding chair from Moe’s Home Collection. “This chair will move fluidly throughout the home as an accent, occasional or dining chair with visual simplicity and everlasting style,” the company says. The chair has a deep leather sling seat in Kohl black and an airy solid ash wood frame. (International Home Furnishings Center, C302, Commerce, Floor 3)

This low-profile sofa with a loose pillow back and wide track arms originally debuted in leather from Whittemore Sherrill and had good success at retail, according to Sherrill Furniture. The Pasatiempo armless slipper chair with loose back pillow is part of the Erinn V. x Universal collection, a collaboration between interior designer Erinn Valencich and Universal Furniture that launched in April. The full collection is being shown this market. (101 S. Hamilton St.)

Four Hands says its Elliana chair “offers it all: curves, color, texture, durability and sustainability.” Oh, and it swivels 360 degrees, too. The chair is shown here in an Olive Fiqa fabric, a machine-washable, stain-resistant, water-repellent and antimicrobial fabric made from recyclable materials. It retails for $1,649.
