With the latest release of Consumer Insights Now research results focused on consumers’ plans to buy furniture for their primary bedrooms, we thought it was a good time to take a look at some new beds — and linens to dress them with.
Here’s a sampling of what buyers can see at the upcoming High Point Market April 22-26.
The Lorenzo is a new bench-made upholstered platform bed from Nathan Anthony, featuring an exposed wood frame with gently curved edges and a light finish. It’s balanced with modern, wide-set horizontal channel stitching on the headboard and base. Shown in a high-performance fabric cover, the bed is fully customizable. (IHFC, IH602, Commerce, Floor 1)
The Maidstone collection from Stickley is designed to conjure an atmosphere of refreshing breezes, waving grasses and sun-dappled woods. The 34-item group includes pieces for living room, dining and bedroom. The upholstered bed, made of solid red oak with two available cerused finishes, comes in queen, king and California king sizes. The coordinating nightstand features woven jute on the drawer fronts and nickel hardware. (200 N. Hamilton St.)
TL at Home is debuting Devon, a stonewashed, 100% pure linen bedding collection. It has a rumpled design for lightweight loft and luxury and is finished with a fringed edge for still more texture and coziness. Devon is reversible, too: One side is the company’s natural linen; the other side is available in Ivory, Oak, Apple, Crimson, Cobalt and Teal. The Devon line, available in coverlets, shams and throws, is designed to coordinate with the company’s Vintage Velvets line. (300 W. Broad Ave., Codarus Broad Hall)
Ethnicraft’s Spindle bed, bedside table and bench are now offered in a sustainable material that has been salvaged from construction (such as housing, public buildings and bridges) in Indonesia. Thanks to the work of skilled artisans, this wood gets a new life as contemporary furniture. Reclaimed teak has a unique character and patina, with color variations ranging from light to dark brown, with bronze undertones. (IHFC, IH410, IH411, Commerce, Floor 1)
Sarreid Ltd. has been adding bedroom to its line, including five bed styles, as part of its effort to be a whole home resource for buyers. Styles range from the woven leather headboard of the Vineyards King bed to the carved Madeline Bungalow poster bed (shown). (Commerce & Design building, 3D, Floor 3)
Siscovers is introducing its eco-friendly Redeem fabric, made from recycled plastic bottles and cotton T-shirts. Products made with the fabric have a smaller environmental footprint because they take no water and less energy to produce, the company says. Natural inspiration and minimalism combine in the Leirvik collection from Furniture of America. The bed features rattan weaving that spans the headboard and crisp, straight lines for a sleek silhouette. It is finished in a light walnut. Matching case goods include barely-there finger pulls. Inspired by Scandinavian modernism, the simple lines of the Currant bedroom collection from Greenington Fine Bamboo Furniture bring the elegance of midcentury design into the modern home. The headboard, with a caramelized finish, showcases the color and grain of solid bamboo. The sleek wraparound side rails and footboard finish the look with tapered legs.
