A first look at case goods premiering in HP

Mixed materials, striking silhouettes, rich finishes distinguish case goods debuting at High Point Market Oct. 22-26. Many of the tables, chests, cabinets and desks blend styles, lending them universality and versatility.

Here’s some of what manufacturers will be spotlighting:

With a midcentury-inspired, surfboard silhouette and angular legs, Arteriors’ Palto dining table is striking from every angle. Constructed of straight-grain ebony oak veneer, with solid oak legs and an antique brass stretcher that offers both support and visual contrast. It retails for $6,500. This side table from Nathan Anthony Furniture has a novel upholstery shell — the company suggests an eco-friendly vinyl or vegan leather cover to dress it. The hand-turned legs and drawer façade are made with sustainably harvested alder wood, and those components can be customized in 10 finishes. Part of the Alais 2.0 collection, the table is designed to complement the Alais bed, as well as other beds in the company’s collection. This High Point Market, Hurtado Furniture is adding to its contemporary Bond collection of bedroom and occasional pieces. The line is known for geometric shapes, irregular plates and metal accents. For practicality, this three-door Bond wardrobe has two drawers, six shelves and a hanging bar. An LED illuminates the inside. Bond collection pieces are offered in a wide variety of finishes, metals and marble-top options. (208 W. English Road)

The airy, sculptural Wavelength coffee table from Porter Designs is part of the company’s Traveled and Found collection of limited-edition, retro-modern accents crafted in India. (Centers of High Point: Hamilton 230, Floor 2)

Sarreid Ltd.’s Geo coffee table attracts attention from all sides, making it perfect as the star of a room or as part of the supporting cast. In a grand space, pair two. Made from mango wood with iron plinth. (C&D Building, 3D, Floor 3)

This two-door Art Retreat cabinet from Sherrill Occasional features hand-painted cabinet doors with silver leaf and tapered legs with metal ferrules. Practical details include touch-latch doors, a removable/adjustable inside shelf and a cutout on the back of the piece for cable management. This market, Sherrill Occasional is adding more than 50 new pieces, including an expansion of its Voyage Maison line. (315 Fred Alexander Place, Floor 2)

The Del Monte dining table in white oak with a weathered oak finish is set off by metal trim and a metal base in an antique satin brass finish. It’s part of the Erinn V. x Universal collection, a collaboration between interior designer Erinn Valencich and Universal Furniture. (101 S. Hamilton St.)

Lillian August is celebrating a 15-year anniversary of licensing with Hickory White (part of Sherrill Furniture group) with a large debut, including 30 case goods designs, 14 upholstery additions and 17 outdoor furniture pieces. This three-drawer chest is part of the Rose collection reinterpreting art deco-style designs from the 1950s. (315 Fred Alexander Place, Floor 2)

With molded and sculptural lines, Copeland Furniture’s Lisse dining room group is both simple and modern. It has smooth, flush joints throughout, and is available in two configurations: extension table and glass top. The glass top table will be available in two sizes. (Showplace, 5100, Floor 5)

Bellini Modern Living is expanding a line of ceramic-topped occasional tables it introduced in April with a trio of new console tables: the Sasari, Stella (shown) and Rocco. All three complement the company’s ceramic-topped cocktail tables, dining tables and sideboards. (IHFC, H520, Hamilton, Floor 5)

This ornate writing desk is part of Hooker Furniture’s new Charleston collection, a launch of more than 90 pieces for bedroom, dining room and home office, as well as occasionally offerings. The collection, inspired by the West Indies and the traditional South, features warm cherry wood veneers in a Black Cherry finish, as well as marquetry details, woven cane and botanical carvings. This dressing table from Legacy Classic | Modern is part of the 25-piece, whole-home Terra Luna collection distinguished by angular modern shapes, organic textures and mixed materials in a color palette of gray, cream and metallics. The dressing table includes a lighted, lift-top mirror that can also be used as a desk featuring a faux leather insert. (2622 Uwharrie Road)

The Nash coffee table, in a honey brown finish, combines a retro sensibility with a contemporary spirit. Constructed of a birch wood frame with a burl wood veneer, the simple silhouette puts the focus on the richness of the natural wood grain, with knots enlivening the surface.
