AICO develops protective packaging to quick-ship some lighting

Home furnishings manufacturer AICO has announced a new packaging program that will allow its small and medium-size chandeliers and sconces to be shipped via UPS, Fed Ex and other parcel distributors. It’s an effort by the Pico Rivera, California-based company to offer a quick-ship program so its customers don’t have to wait for common carriers or meet minimum quantity shipment requirements.

The Bouquet chandelier is part of the new packaging program.

According to a news release, AICO’s merchandising and packaging engineers have conducted thorough testing to develop solutions for each of the select luxury lighting offerings that will be shipped in the enhanced custom packaging.

“We have studied for months and developed a custom design for select small and medium-size chandeliers and sconces that we can now ship direct to stores or direct to their customers through UPS, Fed Ex and other parcel distributors, ensuring a seamless, fast delivery, while omitting minimum shipment charges,” said Michael Amini, AICO’s chief designer, chair and chief executive officer. “Our packaging experts have designed, tested and built custom packaging solutions that will ensure each item is packed to support and protect the valuable assets during their journey. We look forward to transitioning additional lighting items to this parcel packaging strategy.”

AICO is an international home furnishings company that manufactures home furnishings and accent product lines, including complete case goods collections, high-fashion upholstery, top-of- bed designs and an extended catalog of accent pieces.
