Awash in color: Vibrant rugs that will lift spirits and elevate rooms

Summer has the Decor News Now team feeling energized and hopeful, so when we were reviewing rugs that you can see at summer markets, we were drawn to some of the brightest and boldest: cheerful florals, splashy abstracts, zippy stripes. The kind of rugs that can lift spirits and elevate rooms.

Several are suitable for use outdoors — where we all want to be when the weather is pretty and the days are long.

Alas, summer doesn’t last forever. Next week, we’ll showcase more muted rugs that can anchor a living space with subtle patterns and neutral hues.

The colors of dawn are spectacularly displayed in this abstract, modern rug, part of the Prismatic collection from Nourison in Saddle Brook, New Jersey. Shades of golden yellow, orange and burnt red appear to glow atop its blue ground, with carved accents that add a layer of dimension. A focal point of any room, it is handmade from a blend of New Zealand wool and silky Luxcelle. (Las Vegas, World Market Center C112)

It also comes in navy, beige, turquoise, gray and light brown. (Las Vegas, World Market Center B424)
