Designer Jennifer Hunter has launched a line of architectural hardware with SA Baxter. Candleholders will follow.

The George Suite of knobs, handles and other hardware was originally created for a second home the New York-based designer is building in Washington, Connecticut. The collection is based on a star-shaped detail found on an antique button that is said to have been worn by George Washington. The piece spoke to Jennifer as a historical item that celebrates the town’s colonial history and the name Washington.

“Jennifer came on our radar last year as a fresh, up-and-coming name in the design world,” said Scott A. Baxter, founder of SA Baxter Architectural Hardware. “We love her style and knew it would be a great partnership. We are pleased to offer this stunning new suite to our established design clientele, as well as new customers who want to incorporate this classic American heritage style within their homes.”

SA Baxter, with a foundry in New York’s Hudson Valley, casts its hardware in brass, bronze and white bronze base metals. The George Suite by Jennifer Hunter hardware will be available online, and in SA Baxter’s showroom in the New York Design Center and its London showroom at The Design Center Chelsea Harbour, as well as in a soon-to-open SA Baxter outpost in the Hamptons.

The collection will also include a matching candle vessel in three sizes, as part of the newly launched Scott Alexander Scents line.

Hunter, owner of Jennifer Hunter Design, is known for her traditional yet fresh approach to interior design. Her first formal foray into interior design was in 2006 when she interned for the late Albert Hadley. After graduating from the University of Texas in Austin with a degree in architecture, Hunter earned a master’s degree in American fine and decorative arts from the Sotheby’s Institute of Art in New York. She founded her firm in 2019.
