Precedent launches largest introduction in a decade

Organic shapes, natural fibers and warmer tones are hallmarks of High Point Market introductions from furniture maker Precedent, which is unveiling its largest array of new products in a decade during the show Oct. 22-26.

The new Sierra chair’s maple base is available in custom finishes, and the Emerson sectional is available in a variety of configurations for maximum flexibility in the home.

The company will debut 34 new pieces, including seating, upholstered beds, dining options and a dozen new upholstered items in its Lemieux et Cie collection — all shown in its newly renovated showroom on the third floor of 315 Fred Alexander Place.

“Our newest collection, in every way, has been inspired by nature. We have seen a major shift in trend towards more organic shapes, warmer tones, more textured textiles and natural/untreated fibers. These trends drive our design direction while always keeping our principal focus on comfort,” said Tom Zaliagiris, vice president of sales and marketing.

The vision for the new line comes from the colors and textures of things seen in the environment, the company says.

“Spaces have become defined by the layering of texture, and natural fibers are being utilized in textiles, creating a haven in the home,” said Zaliagiris.
