Universal Furniture outfits PGA Tour hospitality suite

Whole-home furnishings resource Universal Furniture recently created a shoppable hospitality space for the Honda Classic, a professional golf tournament on the PGA Tour in South Florida. Located at the PGA National Resort and Spa, the tournament provided a luxurious location for High Point-based Universal to make its furnishings available for purchase, with all proceeds going to charity.

The hospitality space on the 18th green showed off Universal’s Coastal Living collection and gave visitors a great view of the golf course.

The Legends Club, a white-glove-service hospitality space on the 18th green, served as the location for Universal’s shoppable retreat, providing a view of the course set with furnishings that allowed guests to relax and enjoy the tournament in luxury.

Universal outfitted the space with furnishings from its Coastal Living collection, including the Kiawah sofa and Bahia Honda chair. The Kiawah sofa added a refreshing feel to the space with clean, simple lines and a single-cushioned bench seat set atop rounded legs with casters. Similarly, the Bahia Honda chair created a relaxed feel with a fully upholstered body and rounded wooden arms. The addition of Crypton Home performance fabrics to the pieces provided peace of mind, as the cleanable fabrics stand up to the wear and tear of entertaining, the company said.

“Enjoying golf with friends is a luxury, made even better with Universal furnishings in a beautiful setting such as the PGA National Resort and Spa,” said Neil MacKenzie, senior vice president of marketing. “We were thrilled to participate in a unique design project that put our furnishings on display while also raising money for a good cause.”

In addition to furniture, Universal’s shoppable hospitality space featured chandeliers and table lamps from lighting and decor company Regina Andrew Detroit. The entire space was designed and arranged by Cabot House Furniture, a Universal retail partner located in Lantana, Florida.

Universal was also featured in the Outdoor Oasis located behind the 18th green that served as a welcome location for all tournament visitors. The space was outfitted with select furniture from Universal’s Coastal Living Outdoor collection and guests were kept cool by fans from Big Ass Fans.

All items within the spaces at the Legends Club and the Outdoor Oasis were shoppable onsite, and 100% of the proceeds were donated to Nicklaus Children’s Hospital, a pediatric hospital in Miami.
