HPxD VIP Hummer Tour geared up for market

High Point x Design is geared up for High Point Market with the return of its VIP Hummer Tour with host Don Ricardo Massenburg, founder of Design Inkredible.

The VIP Hummer Tour kicks offat 8 a.m.on the opening day of market, Saturday, Oct. 22, for a full day of curated stops at HPxD member showrooms via a 31-foot stretch Hummer. Hummer Tour guests are all interior design professionals from across the country. 

Joining host Massenburg and Jane Dagmi, managing director of HPxD , will be Andrea Small, The Adored Nest; Kelly Schellert, Ethos Design Collective; Lauren Ashley, LA Weddings & Interiors; Laura Koshel, LK Design; Lisa Stewart, Lisa Stewart Design; Mia Johnson, Mia Johnson Home; Priscilla Baez, MPB Design Co.; Sarah Storms, Styled by Storms; Tiara Holloway, Vivacious Interior by Tiara; Tiffany Brown, Brown Builders Design; Trystin Kier Francis, House of Kier; and Vanessa Pierre, Vannie Paradis Design Studio

The dozen winners were selected through a lottery-based open call that is mindful of diversity and inclusion, central to HPxD’s mission. All of the selected interior designers are first-time Hummer Tour attendees.

The Hummer Tour will begin at Splashworks, where owner and HPxD Board President Tom Van Dessel will welcome the designers before they are shuttled off to Cohab.Space for breakfast. Tour guests will get to experience Cohab’s new food truck depot in collaboration with Ichnology, which debuts during market from Wednesday, Oct. 19 through Wednesday, October 25. 

Next up will be stops at Antiques & Design Center, Asian Loft and Tamarian Rugs before breaking for al fresco lunch at Verellen where several of their “friendors” — M2C Studio and The Royals Project — are also HPxD members.

After lunch, the tour heads to Lancaster, Oly Studio, Baker Furniture and Codarus’s new High Point flagship, Broad Hall. 

Each stop along the tour will bring the interior designers to the showroom for a private guided tour introducing them to the brands’ design talents, principals and marketing teams. The last stop on the tour, billed as “the after party,” Eichholtz to coincide with its Philipp Plein U.S. launch celebration.

In addition to the scheduled showroom stops, many HPxD brands will contribute to a special swag bag.

HPxD brings together the industry’s largest flagship showrooms, manufacturing brands, makers and creatives who share the collective vision to activate High Point as a year-round destination for design.
